Therapy may be one of these two types; group or individual. A group therapy is aimed to associating the patient with others who have a similar problem. This helps the patient to accept their condition seeing that they are not alone with this problem.

Lastly, the patient has to undergo detoxification and withdrawal. This is the hardest stage for most of these patients. They are kept under 24 hours detoxification process and it involves staying for long hours without alcohol. This period really takes a toll on them but they are assisted in every way.
