The paleo way of life is growing in communities worldwide, and so is the desire for paleo-friendly protein bars. The issue is that these bars can get costly, and they might not have the flavor selections you are looking for.

If you find yourself in this situation, and you like spending time in the kitchen - why not create your very own homemade protein bars? They may take some time to bake, and they do not come in convenient single-serving packages, however, with some practice and some air tight plastic bags, you can produce your very own nutritious protein bars that you can carry with you in the car, to the gym or while traveling.

If you've ever reviewed the labels for paleo bars, you probably have noticed a few similarities. There are normally less than 10 ingredients, and many include nuts, coconut, protein powder and in some cases dried fruit.

These are all products that you can purchase at your neighborhood grocery store, combine in a blender, place in a baking dish and cook for approximately 10-20 minutes. When they are done, you simply take the baking pan out to cool, cut your creation into single-size servings and place in air-tight containers that are ready to eat when you are.

The first couple of batches that you make might turn out some unexpected results as far as finding the taste and consistency you enjoy most. There are several complimentary recipe samples online that you can find by doing a fast search in a search engine.

Once you discover a recipe that you like, you can get nuts, seeds and protein powder in bulk to save money. In addition to having nutritious meals - you will be saving money too!

Nuts, obviously, contain protein, but some individuals add egg or protein powder to boost the quantity.

Nuts, unsweetened coconut and dried fruit will not stick together by themselves. You want to include ingredients like almond butter, coconut oil with flax seed meal or honey to hold everything together.

Seasonings such as vanilla or cinnamon can spice up your treats, along with a touch of salt. Get innovative with the paleo items you include in your own recipes, as this can enhance the taste, enhance the variety and make it easier to enjoy the paleolithic way of life.
